Meet the Founders
The Femmes of Distinction Society Inc., a sisterhood organization for feminine lesbian women of color, was conceptualized on August 23, 2022, and officially founded on February 24, 2024. We recognized a significant lack of positive representation for women of color in our neighborhood and aimed to address this gap. Our mission is to be the exemplars of inclusivity and empowerment in our community!

Starr Allen-Pinder
Starr Allen-Pinder is a 30 plus year native of South Florida and a decedent of Montserrat, West Indies located in the lesser Antilles. She has been a hairstylist for over the last 20 years. She is currently a student at Broward College majoring in Business Administration. She has a heart for service and is a lover of people. She is currently married with 3 adult children and 2 granddaughters. She resides in Downtown Fort Lauderdale.

Althea "Tia" has been employed for 19 years at WSVN Channel 7 as the News Department Business Coordinator. As a native of Miami, Florida, a descendant of the Bahamas, she exudes professionalism, charisma & vibrancy and is an all-around Social Butterfly for the group. She has 2 grown sons & 3 grandkids, and lives a wonderful life in Tamarac, Fl.
